Who's Behind Knocking Tin

Knocking Tin is a content site built around HVAC sheet metal fabrication — specifically, the kind of knowledge that lives in working shops and rarely makes it onto the internet in any useful form.

My name is Kevin. I own and operate K&E Sheet Metal, a custom fabrication shop that makes ductwork, transitions, fittings, and whatever else field techs need to get their jobs done. I've been in the trade long enough that a lot of what I know lives in my hands rather than my head.

This site is an attempt to change that — to get real fabrication knowledge out of the shop and onto the page in a way that's actually useful to the people who need it. Field techs ordering fittings. Contractors trying to understand what they're getting. Newer fabricators learning the craft.

Why "Knocking Tin"

It's an old trade expression. Sheet metal work has been called knocking tin for as long as anyone in the business can remember. It felt right for a site that's trying to be honest about where the knowledge comes from.

The Shop

K&E Sheet Metal is the fabrication shop behind this site. If you need custom ductwork, transitions, radius elbows, or anything else that needs to be cut and bent to spec, that's the place. The tools and calculators on this site connect directly to the shop's workflow.
